After more than a year fully dedicated to deploying Leonard both within VINCI and across its broad ecosystem, the time has come for me to embark in an even bigger challenge and take the Group closer to its next business frontier : data activation.
Before detailing this endeavour in a next post, I would like to revert on these past 14 months and our achievements : Leonard is now at full speed in each of its components and across the whole VINCI Group with strong onboarding from all of our business lines.
Our foresight groups (ran by Julien Villalongue) are exploring key topics for VINCI’s future such as Autonomous Vehicle, Work 2.0, Climate Resilience of Infrastructures & Cities, Building Information Modeling and Building Operating Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Everything as a Service… and such collective intelligence has already inspired several further explorations and helped the Group define positions regarding future regulations or experiments.
Our intrapreneurship program (ran by Nathalie Martin-Sorvillo) just finished recruiting Class of 2019 (the 3rd one) while Class of 2017 is launching new businesses as diverse as a Concrete 3DPrinting Business in Dubaï (Khalil Doghri & Alice Blouët), a consulting & expertise firm in Resiliency (Dr. Karim Selouane), a digital recruiting practice (Samir Bengelloun). We are also accelerating projects such as Waste Marketplace (intrapreneur : Jérôme De Tomasi).
Meanwhile, Pierrick Bouffaron has structured intrapreneurs acceleration stage, as well as a “Studio” that provides services and hosting to Projects and Startups, for a few hours, a few days or a few weeks.
All these Leonard programs are already mobilizing hundreds of our colleagues, who since June also have a nest, a common house, a jewel case.
Leonard:Paris is a buzzing hive full of meetups, conferences, ideation sessions
A mere 5 min walk from Gare de Lyon, and spanning across 2 floors (and 1500m2), Leonard:Paris is one of the finest and most beautiful innovation spots in the capital [as evidenced by this 3D/VR visit], where VINCI has demonstrated the full range of its know-how in building rehabilitation, connectivity & multimedia, as well as hospitality management & office operations.
In a few weeks, Leonard:Paris has turned into a buzzing hive full of meetups, conferences, ideation sessions for VINCI’s teams from all divisions.
It was all triggered through a fantastic « Building Beyond » Festival, and is now regularly open to anybody for events ranging broadly on the future of Cities and Infrastructures. The Communication and Communities team, lead by Matthieu Lerondeau, is continuously reinventing successful formats and delivering above expectations.
Transitioning from « Build Great» to « Run Fast»
As such, we are transitioning from « Build Great» to « Run Fast» mode, opening a new chapter where « Building Beyond Leonard » has become as necessary as it is possible. I am now handing over operations to Julien Villalongue as Managing Director, with full support from VINCI’s Executive Committee — including our sponsor Pierre Coppey.
Stay tuned as the extent and framework of the Next Frontier will be detailed further very soon.
